Layered Flower

Punchflower

Hi Everyone! I love this flower!!!! I can't wait to start mass producing. And it super dooper easy. Here's how to make:

Punch  out 5 circle scallops using cardstock of choice. I used Rich Razzleberry.

P1030477
Wet punched scallops using a water spritzer. ( I actually just took to sink and run under water in a swiping fashion.) You want these dampened, not soaked. Use a paper towel to protect your work surface and to absorb any excess water. Most cardstock will have some slight bleeding too.
Crumple up into a ball. Do this one at a time. We really want them to have lots of texture.
Unfold and layer.

P1030480
Using a Crop-a-Dile, punch small hole in center. Use a brad to secure.

Bring layers forward, toward brad and fluff up until you get the look you want.
Let dry completely. They will stiffen up.

Other look - I think looks like a carnation and if you keep it tighter, a rose:

  • Punch 8 flowers using the X-Large Flower Punch - Available through the end of April in the Occasions Mini.
  • Follow steps above. I used normal sized brad and 'hid' the brad while bring the layers forward.

I love the look on a gift! If you use on a card, you may wish to hand deliver or use a bubble envelop. They won't fit nicely into a traditional envelope. Click here to watch video!

Faux Stitch Card

P1030448

Hi Everyone!!! Today's card uses a faux stitch technique. By drawing lines outward along the edge of your image, you can get a stitched look to your project.(good for me as I do not have a sewing machine!) The video demonstrates with the bunny - I am on a bunny kick, aren't I?! To make the card:

  • 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 whisper white cardstock 100730 folded in hafl to make card base
  • 4" x 3 " rich razzleberry cardstock 115316
  • 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" whisper white. Run through Big Shot using Texture embossing template 114512.
  • Approx. 3' x 12" strip of pattered paper. Cottage Wall Designer Paper115671 used.Using pattern paper punch: 1 wide oval 12082, 2 large oval 107305, 1 small oval 107304. Take one of the medium ovals and trim to make head shape. Assemble as shown (see video for more guidance).
  • Using gel pen 105021, make 'stitches' by making small, straight dashes all along punched pieces.
  • Stamp saying lower right corner of card. I used saying from Teeny Tiny Wishes 115370
  • Adhere ~ 5" Razzekberry polka dot ribbon 115613 above stamped saying. Trim excess.
  • Adhere bunny to embossed whisper white and layer on top of rich razzleberry cardstock.
  • Place a dimensional on backside of razzelberry cardstock and adhere to card base above ribbon.

Easter or Spring Basket

P1030439 P1030447

Hi Everyone! This cute little Easter basket is made from a 7 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of card stock. Perfect for a little gift or easter treat. Shown above using one of our punched bunnies (see earlier post or video) and paper from the Sweet Pea designer paper set 117161. The other uses our Rich Razzleberry cardsstock 115316 and polka dot ribbon115613 along with the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set 111564, Butterfly punch116629 and Scallop Punch (FREE in Sale-a-bration catlog through the end of March 2010.)

Score cardstock at 1 1/2" each side
Cut the cardstock at the two score lines on either side of the long length of cardstock - see video for details. Using Sticky Strip, fold in corners and adhere strips
Fold inward to make box corners.

Decorate outside of your box, You will need 15" of either paper or ribbon to go around box, For the bunny basket, I used patterned designer paper cardstock. Worked great! To make handle: Cut
1 strip 1" x 11" cardstock
1 strip 7/8" x 11 cardstock OR 1" x 11" and using a border punch of your choice - border each side. See butterfly basket above. (Optional - adhere smaller width strip to larger. May not need to as brad secures.)

Punch a hole with your crop-a-dile on either side of your box (I used the 1/2 stop setting) and also on your handle. Use a large brad to attach handle to both sides of basket. Click here to see video. See 24/7 order link above if you'd like to order anything!

Scalloped Flower with Crimped Leaves

P1030413

Hi Everyone! This is third item we made at my open house last weekend.Take 8"x 4" whisper white100730 and fold to make a 4 x 4 card.Punch scallop 109043 and cut inward in-between each, being careful not to snip in too far. Punch 3/4 " circle107217 for flower center. With folded piece of scrap old olive green 100702, run through crimper 101618. Cut out 1/2 leaf similar to what you would do cutting out a heart. Open up and now you have a really cool technique to add texture to your leaves. Adhere on card with either snail adhesive or dimensional (which is what I did). Take ~ 10-12" old olive 1/4" grosgrain riboon111368 and tie a knot. Click here to view video. To order any of the supplies visit my24/7 ordering site.
