Scrap Attack! Masculine Birthday Card

P1050434Hi Everyone! I admit to being a paper scrap hoarder :) keeping all usable sizes of paper is a must in my little stampin' and paper crafting world! I do limit myself to one gallon size zip look for solid colors!! P1050436 Big LOL. This was my challenge to myself..to make cards every now and again using just my scraps. No new sheets allowed (with the exception of the card base.)

I took my brown scraps and the designer paper Blueberry Crisp 117392 scraps as my challenge colors.

Cardstock:
Sahara Sand and Soft Suade

Punches:
Owl
Bird
Word Window
Modern Label

Ink: Marina MistP1050437

Stamps:
Teeny Tiny Wishes' for the Happy Birthday
Punch Bunch - 2011 Sale-a-bration choice

How to make: card base 11" x 4 1/4". Fold in half. Cut 2 1/4: off top part of front of card. This will allow us our 'branch' look. The front and inside left of the card are somewhat mirrored images so when the card is open, it continues to look nice as well as covers up the backside of the branch, tree, and owl.

Run 4 strips of 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" through the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines embossing folder. Use the debossed side to face up and add interest to our tree truck and branch. Make the tree trunk with 2 strips. Freehand cut a branch with one. The last glue along the inside left side. The leaves are made using the bird punch's leaf image.

P1050435 For the inside right. I layered my scraps of Blueberry Crisp and used brown scraps to act as a border transition between the paper changes.

P1050433 I'm so happy with how this turned out, I'm going to use this card for a swap I joined with some other demos for masculine cards!

Look for other Scrap Attack designs every now and again and

Happy Craftng!~ Dee

Jenny's Snowman Jar

P1050415

Hi Everyone! I know the holidays are over and it's not technically a paper craft, but I just had to share this! Last December I went to Joanie's to celebration Christmas with her. At church, they announced the ladies' group was making this cutie the next week! I  thought well fooey, missed it by a week. Well guess what?! Joan made an extra for me and gave it to me last weekend!!! I am so excited! His hat is a papercone so that counts, right?! LOL   I bet this idea could easily be modified for other holidays and occations.

P1050416 (The way I understood) how to make. Take a re-purposed sauce bottle and fill with craft snowflakes, drop a little do-dad embellishment inside. Cover either a styrofoam ball or cheapy christmas ornament in glue and roll in glittler or more of the snow.P1050417 Make a cone hat and glue onto head. Glue unto bottle and wrap ribbon or fun-fur yarn around neck.  They used beads for the eyes and mouth and polymar (sp?) clay for the nose.
P1050418

Thanks Jenny for sharing your craft with others and thanks Joanie for making me one. LOVE IT!

Ice Cream Cone Card

P1050409
Hi Everyone! This ice cream cone card is made with.....the Petal Cone die! Yes that right :) I ran Crumb Cake 120953 cardstock through the Big Shot 113439with the Petal Die 121810. I then re-ran it through using the  114512 Backgrounds 1 Textured plates. I trimed off the semi circle from the die. Put Sticky Strip 104294 on folded tab and bring together to form your cone.

With Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Soft Suede, die cut just the scallop portion of the Petal Cone. That's our Ice Cream scoops! P1050410 Next, trace the cone on whisper white with pencil and cut on the inside of the lines. This will be your inside to put a sentiment, invite, etc... layer your ice cream scoops on top. Ink around the edges with Pretty in Pink. I got last year's Sweet Scoop set from the Summer Mini and used the sprinkle stamp from that. This year's Create a Cupcake stamp set in the Occation's mini (p22) would work exellent!

My saying is from the On a Pedestal 113814 stamp set.

Happy Crafting!
