Hi Everyone! I was able to play around a little bit with this idea that's been brewin' and I'm so excited to share with you! Here's a little Holiday Home card that features an opening door to reveal a sentiment or even a photo!
This card uses a card base of 8 x 11 folded to form a 4 " x 5-1/2" card base.
To make the roof pitch:
At the top of the 4" side, mark at 2".
Along the 5 1/2" side, mark at 2-1/2" from the top each side.
With straight edge - draw line from 2" top mark to the 2-1/2 mark, both on the left and right side. Trim off to form roof.
Cherry Cobbler Cardstock (card base)
Red Glimmer Paper
VersMark and used Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder
Big Shot using Tasteful Trim Die and Snowburst and Stripes Embossing Folders
1-3/8" Circle Punch
3/4" Circle Punch
2-1/2" Circle Punch
Tombo Multipurpose Glue
Mini Glue dots
With VersaMark, stamp snowflakes on card base. With heat tool, set vesamark so embossing later will not affect.
To make door: Cut a 1-3/4" x 3" piece of Crumb Cake and round off top using the 2-1/2" circle punch as shown above. Emboss with Stripes embossing folder. With paper piercer, poke hold and attach Vintage Trinket brad.
To make wreath: Punch a 3-4" circle on a piece of Old Olive. Take a 1-3/4" circle punch to the Old Olive and punch an outer circle around the smaller circle punch out. Emboss with Snowburst folder. With Crop-a-dile's larger hole punch, punch 6-7 Red Glimmer Paper circle. Adhere to wreath.
Attach Door with mini glue dots. Trim out 3/4" of door leaving the left side attached. Fold to the left.
With Versamark, stamp image on the front of the card and heat emboss with Silver emboss powder.
With a piece of 3-1/2 x 4 Old Olive, stamp and emboss inside sentiment. Line up on inside of card base so when door open the sentiment is where you would like. I think a small family or children's photo would look so cute here too! Adhere to inside of card then adhere the card front to the card back with the exception of the door opening.
With Tombo, adhere Scallop Trim to roof. Use Tombo around roof and bottom of house and sprinkle Mica Flakes where you wish.
Enjoy making your Holiday Home card and Happy Crafting! ~ Dee
