Note Box for 3 x 3 Cards

Hi Everyone! Today's post is our last in our Pansies on Parade series and we'll make the box that holds 3x3 cards. (see above)
I choose a Thank You theme because I recently read an article that talked how you can easily "pay it forward" with simple thank you's. Keep them in your purse or car. As you interact with people who help you, wait on you, etc.., hand them a thank you to let them know they are appreciated. I owe one to Elizabeth at my doctors office. She's a nurse and is always so pleasant!! and goes the extra mile to make me feel comfortable. Or maybe you see a cashier at a fast food restaurant that needs a little pick-me-up...So that's my new mission! Having little thank you's on-hand.

To view tutorial, view below or click here.

The following materials were used to make our box. Download Note Box Template for 3x3 Cards
8 1/2" x 3 1/2" Rich Razzleberry cardstock
Scrap Whisper White cardstock
Sticky Strip Tape
One of our pansies - see other postings/videos on how to make
18" Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon
Elegant Thank You stamp
Old Olive ink
Large Oval Punch

(I'm using blue so it shows better)
Score as shown and be sure to open up template document. Cut out the little corner completely and cut tabs. Fold at all score lines to break down paper fibers. Apply Sticky Strip to tabs - my trick is to fold inwards so the tape is on the underside of the tab.

Take tape off one tab at a time and fold to create box. Tie ribbon around box and position towards top.

Stamp thank you on white card stock using Old Olive ink. Punch out using the Oval punch and use dauber to ink edges. Adhere to box with dimenional. Adhere pansy to box with dimension.

Now your box is ready for your 3 x 3 notecards! THANK ALL OF YOU for following my blog and videos and I so appreciate your business and fellowship though crafting.

Pansies - Wet and Scrunch Version 3

Hi Everyone! This is the third and final versions of our pansies! Next posting I'll show how to make the little box.
Remember our previous wetting technique to make the flowers (see this page on my site)? I inked the flowers then lightly wetted. I next folded and scrunched then laid out on a paper towel to dry. I took a pencil to roll up edges for a curlier look to the petals.

For those of you who have liquid ink pad refill or the Aqua Painter103954, I've seen where others have made a really fab look by wetting the paper, then dropping ink. I've got the Aqua Painter on my wish list for next order! Here's a look from the side so you can see the dimension on this flower.

Video is uploading tonight! and will be live in a few hours. I hope you enjoyed exploring these different looks with me! And until next time....Happy Crafting! ~ Dee

Organizing Scraps with Zipped Storage Bags

Hi Everyone!Today's posting shows how I manage all my wonderful scraps! I use gallon sized zipped storage bags (from the dollar store) and sort by colors both by solid cardstock and designer/pattern paper. I also use the smaller quart and snack sizes to keep my left over punched or creations. For me, it's a way to keep them organized and protected. I've purchased a 5-drawer plastic unit whose drawer sizes are 12x12. I found at Walmart. I keep one drawer by my paper trimmer and scraps go in there. When it gets full, I sort the paper and tuck into storage bags. Then when I either need a layering or coordinating piece, all my scraps are organized in such a way as I can easily see what I have. If I have a scrap that's 12" long, I do not try to zip the bag. It just sticks out at the top. That's okay as it will store flat in my drawer.

I also sort by theme or holiday. So all my Christmas paper is in one, Halloween in another, etc...If you try it, let me know what you think! Video coming soon!
