Sunflower Card V1

Hi Everyone! I've got 2 versions of this card to share with you. I started out with a traditional card base then trimmed it back. I really liked the look of the petals going off the card. So I trimmed the card base to fit in a normal envelope (I know, I'm not suppose to tell you about my process lol but you all know I'm just like any other crafter...we wing it!) The card base is 4 1/2" x 8 1/2" folded in half, Old olive card stock.100702.

Materials used:
2 Oval punches - 119863 (medium size) and 119863 (small size)
119850 1 3/4" circle punch
Other cardstock: 119683 Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake 120953
Just Believe stamp set 116948 wood mount and 120453 in clear mount.
119670 Early Espresso ink
119254 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon

How to make:
Punch 7 each ovals of both sizes out of Daffodil inked in Crumb Cake121030
Punch 1 circle out of Crumb Cake
Take the circle punch and punch out a circle on the card front base. I took the punch in from the right side as far as it would go and about 3/4" from top.
Adhere crumb cake circle on the inside of the card to line up with the punched circle. P1040765 \
Take the 'Just for you' image from the stamp set and stamp with espresso ink.

Adhere the large petals around the circle. Fill in with the smaller petals.

Add ribbon to bottom.

And here's my second confession ;) See the unwanted ink under you? I rocked while stamped and got the line. What I plan to do is make it into underline so it looks like I'm emphasizing the you. So now  you all know my secret...I see a mistake and try to make it look intentional!

Moon and Shadow Card

Hi Everyone! I admit a slight fixation on a moon image for my Halloween cards :) Here's a card showing how to make silhouettes from your punches by using black card stock.

To make this card.

8.5" x 5.5" Rich Razzelberry cardstock115316 folded in half for the card base and inked in black.

Moon is made using the 2 1/2" circle punch (120906 available Sept. 1) from Daffodil Delight 119683 and is inked with a little each of black 104479 and razzelberry 115658.

Images punched out of black cardstock121045 using Bitty Bat119279, Two Step Owl 118074 and the branch from the Two Step Bird117191,

Happy Halloween from Teeny Tiny Wishes 115370 in black ink on Daffila Delight and punched out using the Word Window punch119857 and inked in black.

Waffle Paper (120985) is the 'ribbon' and is available Sept 1 in the Holdiay mini. Waffle paper is somewhat in the idea of raffia only thinner and comes on a rolled sheet. It's a great interest/dimension builder!

As I was getting the item numbers I noticed that the colors were from the Brights Collection (p166). Don't forget SU has assortment cardstock as well as the Stampin' Spots inks. When I first started getting SU items, I ordered the assorted packs and stampin' spots to not only build a little color-coordinatinng inventory but also to see what colors I really liked using prior to buying a pack or pad of just that color. Something to consider if you've been thinking  about or wanting to try SU paper..

I got some new Big Shot dies (hurray!) and will be playing with fabric and other materials so I'm sure I'll have some posting updates to show you. Happy Crafting! ~Dee

Tree, Thoughts and Prayer Decor Element at Work

Hi Everyone! My work allows us to pick out our own office decor as long as it's okayed by the gal the coordinates the office look. Mary does an outstanding job and was excited to try out SU's Large chocolate Tree, Thoughts and Prayer 116004 decor element along with the114782 Always Small Bird in celery. We put it up yesterday and I LOVE IT! We tried out just one bird to start and may add more. And for a total of ~$55 dollars with tax and shipping, it's a very doable piece of artwork. I think it stand ~33"high by 53 " wide. I've seen another demonstrator use this tree and add the Family saying element. She hung family pictures along side it. Such a cute idea!  Here's another pic straight on.

Another Rock n Roll

Hi Everyone! Here another example of the Rock n Roll technique with the tree image from Forrest Friends. I debated sharing as the designer paper and sentiment are from last year's catalogs and are no longer available. But I was making this card for a family member and really wanted you to see how the same image can take on a totally new feel depending on the colors and other embellishments that go with it.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Stampin' UP?! (wink..haha) I had this card put together in just a few minutes because of the color coordinations, the punches that work with each other and a variety of stamp images and sentiments to choose from. So enjoy the journey of building up your SU supplies because it does help make crafting so easy!

Punches: large and medium circle scallops, eyelet border, word window and modern label.
Colors: Old Olive, Marina Mist, Whisper White
