Lil Miss Chick - Shelf Dangler Card & Cello Bag Treat Holder
03/16/2012
Hi Everyone! I hope you have enjoyed the Blog Hop this week. I know I have! Thanks for hopping with us.
Our little chick, or should I say "chic" (smile), has a little attitude with her candy legs crossed! She's a card and treat all in one! The 1" x 8" Cello Bags were a Holiday mini carry over item 124134. $2.50 for 50/pk and are still available. (I love these things!)
The card features cardstock from the Brights Collection Assorted Cardstock Pack 119706 + Whisper White. The die is 114521 Framed Oval Scallop. You could make your own oval pattern too and hand cut the shape. The dies just make it super fast and easy! Pumpkin Pie ink from the Classic Stampin' Spots inks Brights Collections was used. To make:
Make a card base using Daffoldi Delight cut at 9" x 3-1/2" Fold to make a 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" card base and run through the Big Shot making sure the fold stays slightly inside the cut line. This will make your hinge. Make a single oval with Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. With 3/4" Circle
Punch, adhere in a random patter circles on the single Daffodil Delight. Run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polk Dot Embossing folder. Adhere to card front.
With yellow candy (Lemon Head used in example), fill cello bags. Do not fill quite to the top as you will need a little give in order to allow her to legs to bend. Staple to the inside of the card base. Stamp sentiment with Pumpkin Pie on whisper white oval and adhere to inside of card to cover staples.
With Boho Blossom Punch, punch flowers from Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo. With White Gel Pen, make center and adhere. Punch eye from standard hole punch and Basic Black. Peak from one of the petals from the 5-Petal Flower Punch. (or free hand cut triangle). Punch a 1-3/4 Scallop Circle and cut in half for wings. With Sponge Dauber, ink around the edges of wings and chick. She sounds complicated to make, but she goes together so quickly. The die cutting is done in no time then grab your punches, ink, fill candy and you're all set!
