November Team Swaps - Home for The Holidays

DSCN2510Hi Everyone! Here are the Designer Paper Dolls' November swap cards. Aren't they beautiful?! Our theme for November was Home for the Holidays and they so captured the theme!
DSCN2511Linda's card features Trendy Trees stamp set. She layered the images in differend colors to make a woods look. Love the Glimmer paint all over too!

DSCN2512Lisa also used Glimmer or Shimmer paint on her die-cut tree which is embossed with Snowburst embossing folder. Little Dazzling Detail drops make for a glttery, star night.

DSCN2513Davette made a angled easel card that wowed us all! I think I will use her card as a video tutorial inspriation in the upcoming week! Silver Glimmer paper borders all the layers for this elegant card.

I'd like to welcome my new Dolls- Deanna, Jackie and Lori! I live in the Midwest, and some of the dolls live in California and even Hawaii! I'm so thrilled to have you all join my Designer Paper Dolls team and the greater Stampin' UP! family.

Top Note Elf Shoes

Hi Everyone! These elf shoes are made from half a Top Note Die 113463. I also used the 3/4" Circle Punch 119873 for the ankle notch and Silver Glimmer Paper 124005 and the Oranment Punch 119847 for the top of the boot swoop.

DSCN2508How to make:
Quarter the Top Note Die - cut in half. Cut the halves in half. See left.

With the punches above, notch out the ankle and the boot swoop. (For me this looks odd, but once you get the legs in and the ball on the shoe, it comes together!)

Tip! What's kinda cool is you get different boot looks dependending on how far down you punch with the ornamnet punch. Don't be afraid to re-punch. A larger circle punch works too.

Cut two strips of  5/8" x 4"  of Candlelight Christmas Designer Paper 126901. Be of Good Cheer 126896 (part of Online Extravaganza - ends today) has 2 striped pattens too. For legs.

I used the 3/4" Circle punch and the star from Merry Minis Punch Pack 126882 to dress up the shoes. With Sponge Dauber - sponge around boots and legs for dimension.

Cardstock: Real Red 102544, Very Vanilla, 101650, Lucky Limeade 122926
Ink: Real Red 126949, Lucky Limeade 126984
Stamp Set: Season of Joy (retired) sorry...I had it in my current stamps area.
Tools: Big Shot113439, Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder 117335, Extra Large Oval Punch 119859, Decorative Label 120907

Larger Elf Punch Art

Hi Everyone!

Update! Here's the video tutorial!

A character in the Sunday ads was the inspiration for my elf punch art! This little gal or guy is  a fairly large punch art, with their tall hat! DSCN2503
I made a couple of versions - boy/girl and 2 different skin tones. Also I wanted to show while the non-embossed is cute, the difference a little embossing can make!

Punches used:
Extra Large Oval 119859 for face and hat brim
1-1/4" Circle 119861 for bangs
Bird Builder 117191 for ears
Owl Builder 118074 for hair & eyes
Itty Bitty Shapes 118309 - circle for nose
Boho Blossoms 119858 - for hat pom pom and hands
Word Window 119857 for arms
1-1/4" Square 119865 for body.  I used the narrow side of the oval punch to punch out overall  bib look.
For curly bang 1-3/4" Scallop Circle 119854

I'm working on a video tutoral!

Online Extravaganza is still going on through November 28th!

Top Note Trio

Hi Everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving yesterday! I hosted for a joint family Thanksgiving for the Slaters and the Hartings (my maiden name) for 27...yes 27 LOL But everyone brought a little something and really all I had to do was get the house ready and bake a carrot cake and some pies. The stamp room opens up from the kitchen. This was part of our vision to really be able to hold larger family get-togethers!
DSCN2489 DSCN2493
Now back to our cards! LOL  Last week I was thrilled to be a class participant for a change and took Davette's (one of my Designer Paper Dolls) card class. We made these super cute Top Note characters. And from my earlier post, you might remember I couldn't wait to make The Grinch!

Punches: 1" Circle, 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle, circle from Punch Pack, Large Oval, Scallop Border
Dies: Top Note, Tulip die from the clearance rack can sub for the antilers.
Cardstock: Lucky Limeade, Chocolate Chip, Silver and Red Glimmer Paper, Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso
Other items: While gel pen, Basic Black Stampin' Marker

The Grinch really become the Grinch with fuzzy eyebrows! Davette used a retired ribbon pack, but I think black Fun Fur yarn would work great!

Holiday Planner

Hi Everyone! Here's a holiday planner that I made with the Designer Paper Dolls at our Team Meeting Sunday. (Dolls that didn't make the meeting will be getting them in the mail! Look for them next week!)

So super cute and an everyday file folder makes for a quick pocket planner! We used Candlelight Christmas Designer Paper for our meeting project...other Dolls will receive planners made with Be of Good Cheer (on sale during the Online Extravangza!)

You could also use this idea for a Bride or Wedding Planner or other big event you want to keep organized! What bride-to-be wouldn't love it?!

Other Materials:

File folder - I fould these off-white beige folders at Staples. I paid a little more but wanted the color! Back to school sales are GREAT for picking up folders for just a few pennies.

3-4 sheets of designer paper (double sided)

I -2  sheets each of 12x12 Cardstock - Early Espresso and Real Red used

FREE Downloadable planner pocket sheets from Organized Christmas!

How to make - open up file folder. Take Left side and bring to folder center and fold. Do the same with the right side. Fan fold the 4 sections so you have a cover and 4 pockets when opened.

You can futher decorate bottom, inside panels with stamps, labels, etc.. I just think this designer paper is soo pretty, I hated to cover it up!

Decorate! Each folder is a little different, but my layering elements are:

Front planner cover
Designer Paper - 3-1/2" x 10-3/4"
Cardstock color 1 mat - 3-3/4" x 11"
Card stock color 2 mat - 4"  x 11-1/4"

Back of planner
Card stock 4" x 11-1/4"

Inside panel liners:
Designer Paper - 4-1/4" x 7-1/4" - this will be the top portion - tuck slightly into the pocket.
Bottom section of panel:
Card stock mat - 4-1/4" x 4-3/4"
Designer Paper - 4" x 4-1/2:

#10 or Business evelopes - Great to keep reciepts or purchased gift cards.
Designer Paper cut to 4-1/8" x 1-1/2"

Assembly - After you fold the folder (ha that made me smile), adhere the Early Espresso Ruffled Tulle to the FRONT only - make sure you give yourself lots of tulle on the sides to make a pretty, fluffy bow. (Ribbon works too!)

Layer front panel elements and adhere. Adhere inside folder liners. Adhere back panel.

Print and trim pocket planner sheets to approx. 3" x 8-1/2". Mat on Card Stock cut out 3-1/2" x 9-1/2". Adhere with brad of choice in upper corner. The brad allows you to replenish your sheets year after year or as needed!

Enjoy making your planners!
