Simply Sketched Embossed Vellum Technique

DSCN3318Hi Everyone! A Chalk It UP! swap card by Becky (I will share the swap cards soon!) reminded me of a technique I used to use alot - embossing on White Vellum Sheets 101856. The new exclusive Hostess Set Simply Sketched (wood mount 129669, clear mount 129672) is used.

How to make an Embossed Vellum Image: Heat emboss the image using VersaMark 102283, White Embossing Powder 109130, and the Heat Tool 129053.

Using Tangerine Tango ink 126946 & Pistachio Pudding ink 131177 with the Blender Pen 102845, color the image. Adhere imagine on white card stock in the corners of the vellum only so no adhesive shows through.

Other items used:
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers (w 128751, c 127805)

Card stock: Whisper White 101650, Pistachio Pudding 131294, Tangerine Tango 111349

Designer Series Paper: Venetian Romance 130144

Tools: Big Shot Die-cutting Machine 113439, Optional Magnetic Platform DSCN3320
130658 (wow! made precise framelit die placement a breeze!), Ovals Collection Framelits 129381, Scallop Oval Punch 119856

Accessories: Retired 1/8" Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon. Sub Whisper White Organza Ribbon 114319 or 130020  3/8" Ruffle Pistachio Pudding Ribbon.

Some of the extra die-cut pieces were used for the inside sentiment.

I was crazy about the new Personalized Stamp, Decorative Label Monagram sample shown in the catalog on page 135 and decided to update my personal stamp. So veristal as it coordinates with the Desorative Label Punch.

Polk Dot Pieces Swap Card

DSCN3303Hi Everyone! What a fabulous time we had yesterday at my Chalk It UP! To a Stampin Good Time event yesterday. I'll be sharing photos this week. We helded a swap and this my mine. One of the stamps sets all received was Polka-Dot Pieces (w 129705, c 129708), which is featured in this card.

As mentioned, one of my 'must have' tools is the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform. (130658) It made die-cutting the center a breeze each time. The color pallet is Whisper White, Summer Starfruit and Coastal Cabana. Here's a detailed photo look of the process!

On a piece of 3-3/4" x 5" Whisper White card stock, stamp images in Summer Starfruit & Coastal Cabana. Tear the upper left corner. With Coastal Cabana, ink around the edges. Adhere to a layering piece of Coastal Cabana card stock cut at 4" x 5-1/4".

Run through the Big Shot using Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

With the Ovals Collection Framelit 129381, die cut center. (Magnetic platform makes this a breeze!)

Ink around both the inside cut out and the oval cut out edge. Tie Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon 126846 around oval. Adhere 'frame' on card base using Stampin' Dimensional foam dots to raise off the base. Adhere oval cut out to card base using Tombo Multipurse glue. You will kinda pop this into the opening, and raise the dimensions frame up around. The center is somewhat sunken giving it a nice 3-d appearance.

DSCN3304With Summer Starfruit ink, stamp butterfly image and punch out using Elegant Butterfly punch.127526.

Inside of base is stamped with Happy Day (w 130294, c 130297) sentiment.

My Dad's Father's Day Card - Tractor Punch Art

DSCN3234Hi Everyone! My dad is a farmer and I think he will get a smile out of this punch art tractor.  As with most projects, embossing really helps to pop the piece.

DSCN3232 DSCN3231

Who knew the leaf from the bird punch would become my corn stock? lol All you farm families say it with me "knee high by the 4th of July"! I think one time I'll have to try making the top leaf a yellow tone for an ear of corn.

Stamp: Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Garden Green, VersaMark

Paper: Garden Green, Basic Black, Retired Bashful Blue, Smokey Slate, Retired Certainly Celery, Retired More Mustard, Baked Sugar Brown, Whisper White, Crumb Cake

Punches: 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, 1" Circle, 1/2" Circle, Itty Bitty Shapes circle, Retired Large Tag, Word Window, Boho Blossom, Bird Builder

Tools: Big Shot, Heat Tool, Embossing Folders: Cloudy Day, Fancy Fans, Square Lattice

Accessories: Pewter Embossing Powder

I wanted to add some metalic to the tractor, so I embossed a section of Smokey Slate card stock with Pewter embossing powder THEN punched out the wheels and exhaust pipe.

Friendship and Stampin'

Hi Everyone! Today's post is a little reflective and sentimental :)

It's true! You can form life-long friendships through Stampin' UP! From my teammates, the Designer Paper Dolls, to my card class attendees, to my blog readers, to my valued customers...I have made friends from all over the country.

When I joined the Stampin' UP! family 3-1/2 years ago,  I hoped to connect with other paper crafters and I've done that and much, much more.

Thanks everyone! for allowing me to be part of your life in some, little way! Take care &

Happy Crafting!~ Dee
