Mini Purse with Note Cards

DSCN5239Hi Everyone! Here's a super cute paper Mini Purse that holds up to 3-4  4"x4" note cards. But warning...the are addictive to make! My local club gals are receiving this with their orders this month! Those that used my Easy Hostess Club code in April  10th cut off will be receiving a kit to make their own!

Mini Purse with Note CardAs you can see out my windows, spring is trying to show up in NE Indiana, but not quite here with the leaves. Our grass is really green and the spring bulbs are brightening the yards and country side!

DSCN5229Materials for the purse:
3-1/2" x 12" Designer Paper
2-1/2" x 5-1/4" Cardstock  Score 1/2" all 4 sides
(4) Four 1/2" x 12 strips of cardstock
Mini Brads

How to make purse base:
Cut tabs as shown. Apply Sticky Stick or other strong adhesive to tabs and make box. TIP! fold tabs to the OUTSIDE of the box. It will be covered up and this leaves a smooth bottom to the purse without seeing tabs when finished.

How to assemble purse middle:

Apply Sticky Strip to back side of designer paper as shown on the right side and along bottom. Set aside.
Optional - stamp 2 of the 1/2" x 12 strips with a stitch like stamp.

Flip the designer paper and adhere the 1/2" x 12" to the top. Flip back over to the back side. Remove sticky strip.

Take base and line up to the bottom of the sticky strip and the non sticky strip side. Star the base half off (seam will be in the middle this way)

Start rolling the base along the sticky strip. If not perfect, no worries we'll cover up any imperfections later!

DSCN5234NOTE!! Do not pinch or try to fold the sides while rolling. You want the rounded side look.

Keep rolling and adhering to the base until end. Match up the top of the purse and adhere side of middle.

Adhere the other stamped 1/2" x 12" strip to the bottom of the purse - it will hide any slight alignment boo boos.

To make handles:

Cut (1) of the 1/2" x 12" in half and pierce ends. Pierce purse top where you want handles and secure handles with mini brad.

DSCN5235 DSCN5236Last overall construction step - take last 1/2" x 12 strip - put sticky strip on and adhere to the INSIDE top of the bag - this will cover up the brad backs and add to the finish look!

Decorate cards and front of purse! I used Sophisticated Serifs stamp set and the Flower Medallion Punch.
