Christmas in July Card Folder - And It's a Kit To Go

This Is Christmas

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my Christmas in July Kick Off!  And thanks to fellow demonstrator Tanja Rath from Germany (I think) for sharing her inspiration! Her folder needed 12x12 cardstock and I modified it so we could use 8-1/2x11 cardstock ....which means you can make this with the coordinating Cardstock Pack...WOO HOO! Here's Tanja's link to her project.

DSCN6075I layered up the insides and pockets. Tomorrow's post will show the cards I created to go inside!

This is Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper is PERFECT for a little mass producing. BIG benefits with this holiday paper pack - 24 sheets, 4 each of 6 double-sided designs which means you have plenty of LIKE cards and folders. A normal pack is 12 sheets, 2 each of 6 designers. NOTE - the paper is lighter weight than typical SU Designer Paper. Which I find nice for making envelopes too.

Video Tutorial up later today! Update! Here it is:

Jars of Love Lighting Bug Card

DSCN6066Hi Everyone! Summertime in a card is what this card reminds me of! Growing up on the farm, poking holes on the top of a mason jar and catching lighting bugs was a big deal! And fun to keep in our bedroom that night. AND with any luck, they survived the night to be set free the next day.

DSCN6067The jar is made using 2 layers: Bottom layer is a stamped Window Sheet and the top layer is Vellum. I think it makes it look like a real jar!

Making of the elements:
Jar - with Jet Black StazOn, stamp jar image on Window Sheet and let dry a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, die cut jar out of Vellum and heat emboss lid using VersaMark, Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. Die cut window sheet and jar lid.

Stamp lightening bugs and color. Die cut bugs.

With Glue Dot - add bugs to window sheet jar. With Glue Dots, add Vellum jar over top. With Glue Dots add lid.

General instructions:
With Hardwood stamp, stamp Tip Top Taupe on Pool Party to form fence. Layer on Basic Black Cardstock. Add to So Saffron card base.
With Gold Wink of Stella - fleck gold unto card front. Add jar, more lighting bugs and sentiment punched out with Duet Banner Punch.
