First Friday's Blog Hop - Fall

FFBH

Gourd Goodness Stampin' UP!Hi Everyone! Double excited..why? Not only is it First Fridays Blog Hop day but also the first day everyone can order from the new Holiday Catalog! Yippee!!

Our theme this time is Fall. And for me, nothing kicks off my fall decorations like sitting out gourds and pumpkins. And the NEW Stamp Set, Gourd Goodness screams fall to me!

Gourd Goodness Stampin' UP!And seriously, how good is this Burlap Background Stamp? So good! Gourd Goodness is a 2-Step Stamp Set - you stamp the bottom image then layer another image on top of it! The pumpkin images are 1 stamp. I created a mask of the pumpkins using a Post-It Note.  Here's the steps to create the layered look.

With the pumpkin background image - ink in Pumpkin Pie - Stamp off on a scrap piece of paper. Without reinking, stamp on project.
With the pumpkin top image - ink in Pumpkin Pie and stamp over the background image.
Cover pumpkin image with Post It mask (needs to be thin paper).
Right gourd - bottom image with Crushed Curry ink - stamp so image overlaps mask so it looks like it's behind the pumpkin. Stamp top image with Pear Pizzazz.
Left gourd - bottom image with Pear Pizzazz, top image with Pumpkin Pie.

First Fridays Blog Hop - Designer Paper Showcase

DSCN6415

Hi Everyone! Welcome to our First Fridays' Blog Hop!

FFBH

We each picked a Designer Paper to show you a few projects! I choose the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack - in comes in a 6x6 stack size. The design is actual wood that's photographed. It's AWESOME. If you struggle for that masculine touch, this pack is perfect for that!

Woodtext

First is my card which pairs copper accents with a Wood Textures Designer Paper. I so will be using copper and wood! The woodgrain sheet I choose looks exactly like my paper storage shelf it's sitting on!

DSCN6399

Here I stamped  image from Wood Words in VersaMark and used Copper Embossing Powder to heat set the image on one of the light wood textures from the pack.  I also stamped the sentiment and embossed as well then punched out with the 1" Circle Punch. Next layer on top of a 1-1/4" Early Espresso Cardstock. Die cut copper foil sheet using stitched shapes framelit.  Add some Copper Metallic Ribbon for the finishing touch!

Cut Materials:
Whisper White Cardstock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2
Early Espresso Cardstock 4 x 5-1/4
Wood Textures Designer Paper 3-3/4 x 5

Next is a teeny tiny treat box! You can get 2 out of (1) 6x6 sheets! They hold 1 or 2 kisses or fill with a snack pack of loose M & M's. This pack will go a long way if you need or want to mass produce a little wintery treat!

I have them decorated with the Card Front Thinlits - which you can buy separately or part of a bundle THIS MONTH - it's part of an early release special! It's part of the Carols for Christmas Bundle.

How to make:

Start with a 3x6 sheet of Designer Paper. Score along the 6" side at 1-3/8, 2-3/4, 4-1/8 & 5-1/2

Turn and score at 1" along the 3 " side.

Position the section with the 1/2 section on the right side as shown above. Cut out the bottom , lower right section and angle cut the section. Add tear and tape. Cut up to the 1" score line creating 4 tabs at the bottom. Flip over and add tear and tape to one of the bottom tabs.

Connect the sides with the tear and tap tab and fold the bottom flaps together - save the bottom tap with the tear and tape until last.

Pinch in the sides. Now you are ready to fill with a treat then keep closed with a Gold Library Clip! Die cut images. Add embossing paste to tree. Stamp and punch sentiment using Tabs for Everything stamp set and the 1/2" Circle Punch.

Here's a tutorial on how to make!
